H. Marcuse s Feminism and Identity Politics: Focusing on the Subject-Researching and the New Sensibility

This Thesis intends to examine the feminism of H. Marcuse who was named the Father Of the New Left and the relation of his feminism to the Women s Liberation Movement. With these aims, this article studies the developments and changes of Marcuse s socialism, especially his thoughts about revolutionary subject from the 1950s to the 1970s. The historical significance of Marcuse s socialism and feminism is also discussed in the process of comparison between his feminism and the radical feminism during the 1970s focusing on Identity Politics .
