서울 발달장애인평생교육시설 학습자의 이용 경험 및 요구

Experiences of Use and Needs from Learners at Lifelong Education Facilities for People with Developmental Disabilities in Seoul

연구목적: 이 연구는 서울 발달장애인평생교육시설 학습자를 대상으로 시설의 이용경험과 요구를 그들의 관점에서 조사·분석하고, 발달장애인 당사자주의에 기반한 평생교육시설이 운영될 수 있는 기초자료를 제시하는 데 목적을 두었다. 연구방법: 서울 19개 발달장애인평생교육시설 학습자를 설문조사 하였고, 225명을 분석하였다. 연구결과: 시설 이용경험에서는 발달장애 학습자가 시설을 다니는 이유로는 즐거운 여가 및 문화생활을 하기 위해서가 가장 많았다. 시설의 프로그램, 교재·교구, 교·강사, 편의 제공 등의 만족도는 매우 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이용요구로는 시설을 다니고 싶을 때까지 다니고 싶고, 프로그램 참여는 시설에서 제공하는 프로그램 참여를 61.8%가 원하였으며, 시설의 공간 중 교실과 체육관을 선호하였고, 시설에 카페가 있었으면 좋겠다고 하였다. 프로그램 진행은 외부 프로그램과 체험으로 하는 것을 원하였고, 문화예술 프로그램을 가장 참여하고 싶어 하였고, 피곤할 때 프로그램에 참여하고 싶지 않다고 하였다. 시설이용 기간, 좋아하는 장소, 시설 변화 요구 관련 요인들은 학습자의 성별과 장애 정도에 있어 통계적으로 의미있는 차이를 보였다. 결론: 이상의 연구 85결과를 토대로 서울 발달장애인평생교육시설 운영112 시에 발달장애인 당사자의 요구를 반영해야 할 것이다.

Purpose: The aim of this study is to determine the learners’ experiences of using and the needs of the lifelong education facilities among the people with developmental disabilities in Seoul, South Korea. Method: Based on the learners’ perspective of “Nothing about Us Without Us, data used in this study was collected from a total of 225 learners from 19 different lifelong education facilities for people with developmental disabilities. Total of 225 learners from 19 lifelong education facilities for people with developmental disabilities. Results: The most strongest reason to go to facilities is to leisure and enjoy cultural life. Learners are satisfied with facilities’ programs, texts, teaching aids, teachers, instructors and convenience overall. Regarding the users’ needs, over 61.8% of the learners want to attend the facilities’ program as long as they wish. Their favorite spaces are the gym and classroom. They wished to have a cafe in the facilities. About the program, outdoor programs and experiences are preferred. Conclusion: Learners’ perspective of needs and satisfaction should be put the first priority of the agenda while managing lifelong education facilities for people with developmental disabilities in Seoul.
