초기 청소년의 자아존중감과 교우관계 간 자기회귀교차지연 효과 분석

The Autoregressive Cross-Lagged Effects between Self-Esteem and Peer Relationship at School among Early Adolescents

목적 본 연구는 초기청소년의 자아존중감과 교우관계의 상호적 관계를 자기회귀교차지연 모형(autoregressive cross-lagged model)을 통해 검증하고자 하였다. 방법 이를 위해 2010 한국아동⋅청소년패널조사(KCYPS: Korean Children & Youth Panel Survey)의 초등학교 1학년 5~7차 데이터 중, 2014년 당시 12세이면서 2014년부터 2016년까지 3개년도 동안 지속적으로 설문에 참여한 1,811명의 종단 자료를 분석에 사용하였다. 결과 분석 결과, 이전 년도의 자아존중감은 이후 년도의 자아존중감에 영향을 미치고 이전 년도의 교우관계는 이후 년도의 교우관계에 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 다음으로 자아존중감과 교우관계의 상호 관계성을 검증한 결과, 이전 년도의 높은 자아존중감은 이후 년도의 긍정적인 교우관계를 예측하고, 이전 년도의 긍정적인 교우관계는 이후 년도의 높은 자아존중감을 예측하는 것으로 나타났다. 이를 통해 자아존중감과 교우관계는 상호 간 정적 교차지연 효과, 즉, 상호적인 영향 관계가 있음이 확인되었다. 결론 초기 청소년의 자아 존중감과 교우관계는 상호적으로 영향을 미치는 관계에 있으며 시간의 흐름에 안정적인 특성을 가지고 있다.

Objectives The purposes of this study was to verify the longitudinal reciprocal relationship between self-esteem and peer relationship among early adolescents(from 5th grades in elementary school to first grades in middle school) through the autoregressive cross-lagged modeling. Methods A three years longitudinal annual data(2010 KCYPS; Korean Children & Youth Panel Survey) were used for this study. Among 5th grade in 2014(T5 in panel data), 1811 students who consistently participated annual survey from 2014 to 2016 were analyzed. The survey consisted of questions that measuring self-esteem and peer relationship. Results The results are as follows. First, self-esteem in previous year had a significant effect on self-esteem in next year over time. Second, peer relationship in previous year had a significant effect on peer relationship in next year over time. Third, the previous self-esteem had significant effect on the subsequent peer relationship and also the previous peer relationship had significant effect on the next year s self-esteem. The results showed that a reciprocal relation between self-esteem and peer relationship among early adolescents. Conclusions Based on the results, our conclusion is that a reciprocal relation between self-esteem and peer relationship among early adolescents.
