Countermeasures and Realities of the Violent Extremism

교통과 통신의 발달은 다양한 인종과 민족을 배경으로 하는 사람들이 자국을 떠나 타국에 거주하는 국제이주현상을 촉진시켰다. 이러한 국제이주민이 많은 사회는 그 사회의 구성원이 다양해짐에 따라 사회적 변화가 더욱 가속화된다. 그러나 국제이주로 인한 사회적 변화에 대한 저항도 가속화되면서, 근본주의 및 원리주의의 운동도 동시에 활발해지는 모습을 보이고 있다. 2000년대 들어 점차 증가하는 사회적ㆍ경제적 불안정성은 이러한 근본주의가 폭력적 극단주의로 발전하는 과정의 주요 연결고리로 지적된다. 폭력적 극단주의는 21세기의 새로운 테러 유형으로 나타난 자생테러 및 외로운 늑대 테러의 주요 원인으로 작용하고 있으며, 기존의 대테러 접근법과는 다른 대응전략이 요구된다. 이 연구에서는 폭력적 극단주의의 발생현황 및 대응전략을 중심으로 다루고자 한다. 이를 위하여 폭력적 극단주의의 동기 및 발생원인과 현황을 알아보고 이를 바탕으로 대응전략을 제시하고자 한다.

The development of transportation and communication has facilitated the international migration of people from various races and ethnic backgrounds. Many of these immigrant populations are becoming more and more social as their members become more diverse. But as resistance to social change from international migration is accelerated, fundamentalist and fundamentalist movements are also active. The increasing social and economic instability in the 2000s is pointed out as a major link in the process of this fundamentalism developing into violent extremism. Violent extremism is a major cause of homegrown terrorism and lone wolf terrorism, a new type of terrorism in the 21st century. This study focuses on the current status of violent extremism and its countermeasures. To this end, I would like to identify the motives and causes of violent extremism and their current situation, and propose countermeasures strategies.
