지방정부와 교육청 조례로 본 민주시민교육의 개념연구

A Study on the Concept of Education for Democratic Citizenship by the Ordinances of Local Governments and Education Office

Korea has seen a lot of laws and regulations relating to sociality and community spirit such as Unification Education Support Act, Lifelong Education Act, Environmental Education Promotion Law, Support for Legal Education Act, Economy and Education Support Act, Personality Education Act. However, the democratic citizenship education includes those kinds of education systems based on the public interest rather than individual understanding. This essay compares the democratic citizenship education with the school democratic citizenship education, which is a comparison of ordinances. For this, I introduce the efforts and the response of institutionalizing the democratic citizenship education and observe the present condition of the democratic citizenship education in a comparative way. Next, I measure the democratic citizenship education for adults against one for students in the secondary school. In conclusion, the democratic citizenship education should be studied continuously separated from lifelong education and one basic law be established so as to define the social regulation.
