This paper aims to suggest a methodology to examine the reality of the education of democratic citizenship that is being done in the city of Gwangju and the request the persons directly involved in this job might make. To be specific, the methodology sequently introduce the research purpose and direction, the research items, the classification of operators and partners, the research methods, classifying the program patterns and analyzing the activating elements, excavating and proposing programs, the suggestion of activating strategies and putting together the list of references, and the plan of pursuing research. This analysis framework is expected to contribute to the activating the citizenship education in terms of quantity and quality by putting forth a real methodology premising the real situation.
