Criticism on the Constructive Peace Politics Similar to the Film Wag the Dog

The film Wag the Dog shows that powerful politicians might distract attention from their scandals by manipulating the function of the media and deceiving their people, which is related to the concept of constructivism, an idea of international relations. This paper aims to criticize the political idea in light of the contents of the movie. As for a research method, I reveal the reasons and examples of the phenomena of wag-the-dog after introducing the story, discussing the definition and problems of constructivism with introducing the peace policies related to the reduction of nuclear weapons. After a result, denying the availability of the fictional fact in the film, I suggest that constructivism should be restricted under the norm of international pacifism and a realistic alternative is to establish a strong international organization of journalism that can keep a watch on politicians’ arbitrary actions.
