The history of the 20th US cabin crew jobs, particularly in the 1960s, had complex structures among the airlines considering using human female sexuality for their profits, the males opposing the reverse discrimination in the stage of the recruiting process, and the females, by an absolute majority, complaining of their working conditions. This paper observes the conflicts between the airlines and the cabin crew unions and the different interests of the male and the female crew. As a research method, I refer to a brief history regarding female cabin crew members and introduce what happened in the middle and late 1960s by the related American materials. In fact, Korean scholars have seldom treated the gender equality of cabin crew, a kind of taboo in the academic field of air service. However, there is a marked difference between the sexes in the years of service and the rate of resignation and leave of absence. This study will contribute to the efforts that the airline companies and the government should make to reduce the disparities.
