Analysis of trends in international research cooperation in universities to strengthen international research cooperation in universities
(Purpose) This study tried to understand the current status of international research cooperation at universities based on the results of analyzing the current status of university institutions. (Design/methodology/approach) For this study, first, based on the literature review related to international research cooperation, the theory related to international research cooperation of universities was established. Second, the database of information sources related to international research cooperation of universities was analyzed. (Research implications or Originality) As a result of the study, first, based on the introduction of universities conducting international cooperation, the keywords with the highest frequency appeared in the order of international, exchange, education, research, student, program, institution, and overseas. Second, as a result of analyzing the contents of cooperation being conducted through sisterhood ties with international university institutions and MOUs at universities, the conclusion of academic exchange agreements, membership in international conferences and activities, operation of various international exchange programs, exchange students, double degrees, global internships It was found that there are teaching and learning programs such as language training, academic support and exchange professor programs, research cooperation, workshops and forums, and education and research support on Korea to revitalize Korean studies. As a prerequisite for expanding cooperation with domestic and international universities, it is necessary to strengthen the university s own interest and support in terms of fulfilling its social responsibilities. At present, the recognition of international research cooperation within universities is low, as items on participation in international development cooperation projects are not reflected in the evaluation of professor achievements. Administrative and financial support at the university level should be accompanied so that individual professors or affiliated research institutions can more actively engage in international research cooperation projects, and system improvement should also be made if necessary.
