경건과 디아코니아

Piety and Diakonia

경건은 모든 그리스도인들의 삶에 있어서 그리스도인다운 삶을 나타내주는 대표적이며 용어라고 할 수 있다. 그리고 이는 하나님을 사랑하는 것을 대표하는 용어이다. 교회의 본질적인 사명은 하나님을 사랑하는 경건과 이웃을 사랑하는 디아코니아 이 둘이 핵심이다. 기독교의 역사는 경건의 역사이기도 하다. 경건은 영성이라는 단어로 시대를 따라서 변화해 왔다. 성경에 나타난 기본적인 영성의 정신이 있고 계시된 하나님의 말씀 속에 담겨진 뜻을 실천해야 할 사명과 책임을 가진 그리스도인들과 교회는 세상 속에서 하나님의 뜻에 따라 실천하며 살아야 하는 것이 기본이며 사명이다. 이러한 실천이 디아코니아로 나타나야 하는 것이다. 영성에 대한 역사적 과정을 고찰해 보았다. 신구약 성경에 있는 영성, 고대 기독교 교부들의 영성, 사막교부들의 영성, 초대교회 이단이었던 영지주의의 영성, 어거스틴의 영성, 탁발수도회의 영성, 중세시대의 영성과 디아코니아, 종교개혁시대의 영성과 디아코니아로 루터, 칼뱅의 영성과 디아코니아 사상과 삶, 이어서 경건주의운동에 있어서 아른트(Arndt), 스페너(Spener), 프랑케(Francke), 진젠도르프(Zinzendorf) 등의 생애와 신학사상에 나타난 경건의 영성과 디아코니아적 삶을 고찰해 보았다. 한국 기독교의 역사 속에 디아코니아 선교의 역사와 영향력은 대단하다. 그럼에도 불구하고 보수적 복음주의 경향 즉 근본주의적 성향이 강한 한국교회가 균형 있는 경건과 디아코니아를 실천하지 못하고 있는 점을 반성해야 하고 갱신되어야 한다.

Piety or Holiness can be said to be a term representing the Christian life. This is also a term that represents the love of God. The essential mission of the church is reverence to love God and the diakonia to love the neighbors. The history of Christianity is also the history of Piety(holiness). Piety(Holiness) has been used as the word spirituality and has changed with the times. Christians and churches who have the basic spirit of spirituality shown in the Bible and who have the mission and responsibility to practice the will contained in the revealed Word of God are to live according to the will of God in the world. This practice should appear as diakonia. So, I have considered the historical process of spirituality. Spirituality in the Old and New Testament, spirituality of ancient Christian fathers, spirituality of the desert fathers, spirituality of Gnosticism, which was a heresy of the early church, spirituality of Augustine, spirituality of the Alders, spirituality and diakonia in the Middle Ages, spirituality and diakonia in the Reformation era. I also considered the Spirituality and Diakonia in the life and theology of Luther and Calvin, followed by the life of Arndt, Spener, Francke, Zinzendorf, etc. in the Pietist movement. The history and influence of the Diakonia mission in the history of Korean Christianity is significant. However, since Korean churches have a strong conservative evangelical tendency, which is a fundamental spectrum, and does not practice balanced piety(holiness) and diakonia, such status quo must be reflected and renewed.
