Analysis of Borich s Needs and The Locus for Focus for Reinforcing Teaching Competency in J University

목적 이 연구는 교수역량의 중요도와 수행도에 대한 교수자 교육요구에 대한 분석으로 교수자 역량 강화를 통한 대학교육의 질 향상에 목적이 있다. 방법 연구 대상은 J대학교 교수 249명의 설문 내용을 분석하였다. 자료처리는 SPSS 25.0 통계패키지를 이용하여 교수역량의 중요도와 수행도의 평균 및 표준편차를 계산하여 대응표본 t-검정하였다. 그리고 Borich 요구도와 The Locus for Focus 분석을 통해 교수직급별 교수역량의 우선순위를 도출하였다. 결과 연구결과 교수자가 인식하는 교수역량에 대한 중요도와 수행도, 직급별 교육요구도 순위를 바탕으로 교수역량의 순위를 알 수 있다. 교육요구 분석 결과 교수역량 1순위는 학생의 동기부여로 나타났다. 연구결과 교수 직급별로 요구하는 역량에 있어서 차이를 보였다. 결론 교수자 역량강화를 위해서는 공통적인 교육역량 지원뿐만 아니라 교수자 특성을 고려한 지원노력이 필요하다. 무엇보다도 대학특성을 고려한 교수역량 강화방안이 모색되어야 할 것이다.

Objectives This study analyzed the importance and performance of professors capacity to improve the quality of university education in accordance with the demand for strengthening the competitiveness of university education. Methods The subject of the study was analyzed the contents of the questionnaire of 249 professors of J University. For data processing, the corresponding sample t-test was performed by calculating the mean and standard deviation of the importance of teaching competency and performance using the SPSS 24.0 statistical package. And through the analysis of Borich s needs and The Locus for Focus, the priorities of teaching competency by faculty position were derived. Results As a result of the research, it is possible to know the ranking of the teaching competency based on the importance and execution of the teaching competency recognized by the instructor, and the education demand by position. As a result of the analysis of educational needs, the first priority in teaching competency was student motivation. As a result of the research, there was a difference in the competencies required for each professor position. Conclusions Therefore, in order to strengthen the capabilities of instructors, it is necessary not only to support common educational competencies but also to support efforts in consideration of the characteristics of instructors.
