영아반 자유놀이 운영의 어려움에 대한 질적 탐구

A Qualitative inquiry on the difficulties of managing free play in infant class: Focusing on the case of 2 year old

목적 본 연구는 만2세 영아반 교사가 경험하는 자유놀이 운영의 어려움에 대한 심층적⋅통합적 분석을 통해, 보다 객관적인 시각에서의 문제 인식을 돕는 데 목적이 있다. 방법 이를 위하여 본 연구에서는 사례의 내재된 문제점 또는 숨겨진 갈등에 초점을 맞추는 질적 사례 연구 방법을 적용하여, 만2세 초록반 교사의 자유놀이 운영 사례를 중심으로 15회의 심층면담, 4회의 자유놀이시간 관찰, 8회의 자유놀이 운영 관련 교사 평가 기록물 등의 자료를 수집하고 분석하였다. 결과 연구 결과, 교사는 영아의 몰입, 주도성, 자발성 등의 놀이 의의 실현과 관련한 어려움, 교사의 놀이 지도 행동과 언어를 포함하는 자유놀이 운영 기술에 대한 어려움, 만2세 영아 또는 개별 영아의 특성과 요구에 대한 효율적인 반응 및 대처의 어려움을 경험하고 있었다. 결론 교사가 경험하는 이러한 어려움들에는 교사 자신의 만2세 영아에 대한 이해, 놀이에 대한 관점 및 태도 요인이 밀접하게 작용하고 있었으므로, 이에 대한 교사의 객관적 인식과 반성, 변화가 함께 요구된다.

Objectives This study aims to help problem recognition from a more objective perspective through an in-depth and integrated analysis of the difficulties of free play management experienced by a 2-year-old infant class teacher. Methods To this end, this study applied a qualitative case study method that focuses on hidden problems or conflicts in the case. Base on the case of free play operation of a 2 year old green class teacher, data was collected and analyzed for the 15 in-depth interviews, 4 observations of play time, and 8 teacher evaluation records. Results As a result of the study, teachers were experiencing difficulties in realizing the meaning of play of infants flow, initiative, and spontaneity, difficulties in the free play management skills including the teacher s play guidance behavior and interaction, difficulties in effectively responding to the characteristics and needs of 2-year-old infants or individual infants. Conclusions The difficulties experienced by the teacher were deeply related to the teacher s own understanding of 2nd-year-old infants, their viewpoint on play, and the factors of attitude, so the teacher s objective perception, reflection, and change are required.
