Analysis of Research Trends in Intelligence of Gifted Students: Focusing on Topic Modeling Technique among Text Network Analysis Method

본 연구는 영재 지능에 관한 학술 논문을 연구 대상으로 텍스트 네트워크 기법 중 ‘토픽 모델링 기법’을 활용하여 국내 영재 지능의 연구 동향을 분석하였다. 연구결과는 빈도수 상위의 단어를 조합하여 5개의 토픽을 추출하였고, 토픽 내에서 주요 단어 간 네트워크 분석을 통해 영재 지능에 관한 학술 논문의 주제를 파악할 수 있었다. 구체적인 내용을 보면, 국내에 영재 지능 관련 연구가 최초(Biblio Data Collector를통한 자료 수집 기준)로 발표된 2004년 이후 16년간 연구에서 추출된 각 토픽의 주제는 ‘수학(정보) 영재의 선발에 관한 연구’, ‘스턴버그의 성공지능 및 적용에 관한 연구’, ‘유아의 창의성과 영재성에 관한 연구’, ‘인공지능을 활용한 교육 콘텐츠 및 지능 신념에 대한 귀인에 관한 연구’, ‘과학영재의 가정과 학습에서의 리더십에 관한 연구’로 정리할 수 있다. 본 연구는 영재 지능의 연구 동향 분석결과를 통해, 영재성의 중요한 요소 중 하나인 ‘지능’에 대한 연구자들의 다양한 관점을 이해하고, 향후 영재 정의 및 판별에 방향성과 시사점을 제공하고자 한다.

With the dissertation on the intelligence of gifted students as the study subject, this study aims to analyze trends in research on the intelligence of gifted students by applying a topic modeling technique among text network techniques. The results show that five topics were extracted from combining high-frequency words, and by analyzing the network between the keywords of the topics, the central idea of the dissertation was identified. Specifically, the theme of each topic studied over fourteen years since the first research on the intelligence of gifted students was published in Korea may be summarized as follows: The study on identification of mathematically(information) gifted students, Sternberg s study on successful intelligence and its application, the study on creativity and giftedness in young children, the study on educational contents using artificial intelligence and attributions of beliefs in intelligence, and the study on leadership in a learning and family environment of scientifically gifted students. The results of the analysis of research trends in the intelligence of gifted students will provide an understanding of the diverse spectrum of perspectives of researchers on the matter of intelligence, one of the factors that plays an important role in giftedness, and present the directionality and implication of the definition and identification of gifted students in the future.
