코메니우스(Comenius)의 부모교육론이 현대 영유아 부모교육에 주는 함의 고찰

A Study on Implications of Comenius’ Parent Education Thoughts for Parent Education of Modern young children

이 연구의 목적은 코메니우스의 영유아기 부모교육론이 현대 영유아 부모교육에 함의하는 바를 고찰하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 코메니우스의 저술 및 관련 논문을 통해 ‘태아기 학교(3단계)’와 ‘유아기 학교(6단계)’로 불리는 영유아기 부모교육론에 대해 고찰하였다. 태아기 학교의 제 1단계는 예비부모기로 임신과 출산 준비, 제 2단계는 부모준비기로서 성경적 관점에서의 ‘부모됨’과 아버지 역할, 제 3단계인 임신 및 태아교육기에서는 태교의 중요성을 강조하였다. 유아기 학교의 제1단계에서는 부모의 기독교적 신앙 준비, 제 2단계에서는 모유수유 및 영의 양식을 통한 자녀 양육, 제 3단계에서는 언어 및 신체교육의 중요성, 제 4단계에서는 감각교육, 제 5단계에서는 도덕심 및 신앙심, 제6단계에서는 취학 전 사회적 교육의 중요성을 강조하였다. 코메니우스는 이 모든 단계에서 부모역할을 강조해 부모 역할수행에 어려움을 겪는 현대 영유아 부모들에게 예비부모교육, 태교, 모유수유, 부모의 역할 및 양육태도의 중요성과 가정에서부터 발달단계에 적합한 영유아기 교육과 인성교육의 필요성을 일깨워주고 있다. 코메니우스의 부모교육론은 현대 부모들에게 자녀 양육책임감을 갖고 가정교육의 전문가로서 성장하게 하는 의미 있는 부모교육사상이라 볼 수 있다.

The purpose of this study is to explore Comenius’ thoughts on parent education and its implications for parent education of modern children. His thoughts on parent education of young children was divided into prenatal schools and early childhood schools . In fetal school, it emphasized the preparation for healthy pregnancy and childbirth before marriage in stage 1, the role of the father as well as the mother from a biblical perspective in stage 2, and the importance of prenatal care in stage 3. In early childhood School, it emphasized the preparation of parent s faith in stage 1, children rearing through breastfeeding and christian education in stage 2, the importance of language and physical education in stage 3, the importance of sense education in stage 4, morality and christian faith in stage 5, and finally pre-school social education in stage 6. Comenius thoughts reminds parents who have difficulty performing their roles as parents, such as the importance of pre-parent education, prenatal education, breastfeeding, parental role and parenting attitudes, and the need for early childhood education and personality education suitable to the developmental stage from home. In conclusion, Comenius thoughts on parent education can be seen as a meaningful theory that enables modern parents to take responsibility for raising their children and grow as experts in home education.
