대학 글쓰기 피드백 체계 탐색

Exploring University Writing Feedback Systems: Analysis of Training Materials for Tutors at American University Writing Centers

대학에서 글쓰기에 관한 피드백은 대체로 담당 교과 교강사,동료 학습자,글쓰기센터 튜터로부터 받게 된다.교사 반응,특히 섬세한 피드백은 학습자의 쓰기 발달에큰 영향을 미친다는 사실은 익히 알려져 있다.그동안 우리 학계에서 대학 글쓰기 피드백의 효용성과 필요성에 관한 합의는 쉽게 이루어졌지만,피드백 방법,범위,권장하는 활용 방안은 연구마다 상이한 모습으로 제시되었기 때문에,이 연구에서는 상대적으로 대학 글쓰기 피드백 연구사가 오랜 미국 대학 작문학계의 논의와 글쓰기 센터교육 자료를 종합하여 살펴보고자 하였다. 이 연구에서는 46개 미국 대학 글쓰기 센터의 교강사 훈련 프로그램과 교육 자료를 수집하고,해석학적 현상학 연구 방법(hermeneuticphenomenologicalapproach, HPA)을 적용하여 대학 글쓰기 피드백 체계와 시사점을 살펴보았다.분석 결과 미국대학 글쓰기 센터에서는 서면 피드백과 대면 피드백으로 나누어 그 절차를 상세하게구분하고 있는 것으로 나타났으며,각종 교강사와 튜터 대상 워크숍과 필수 이수 교과목 또한 체계적으로 구성되어 있음을 확인하고 논의하였다.

In university context, writing feedback is usually received from subject instructors, peer students, and/or writing center tutors. Writing feedbacks and reactions, particularly delicate feedback, are known to greatly influence the learners’ writing development. Consensus has been easily reached regarding the effectiveness and necessity of university writing feedback in Korean academia until recently; however, specific feedback methods, scope, and recommended strategies have been presented in various ways. For this matter, the study focused on university writing feedback systems and training materials in the United States, as it has a relatively extensive history of writing centers and research in the field of writing. In the present study, the teacher training programs and educational materials of 46 American university writing centers were collected, and a hermeneutic phenomenological approach (HPA) was used to examine university writing feedback systems and their implications. The results of the analysis showed that American university writing centers divide the procedure into written and face-to-face feedback in detail, and they provide systematically organized workshops and required courses for instructors and tutors.
