대학교육은 어떻게 일자리 만족도에 영향을 주는가?

How Does College Education Affect Job Satisfaction? : Focusing on the Mediating Effect of Intrinsic Work Value and Major-job Fit

본 연구는 대졸청년층의 ‘어려운 취업-쉬운 퇴사’ 현상에 주목하여 이들의 일자리 만족도를 향상하기 위한 요건으로 내재적 직업가치관과 전공-일 일치도에 초점을 두었다. 이에, 대졸청년층의 대학교육경험이 내재적 직업가치관, 전공-일 일치도, 일자리 만족도에 어떠한 영향이 있는지를 살펴보고자 2019년에 조사된 한국고용정보원의 GOMS 2018 자료를 구조방정식 모형을 활용해 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 첫째, 대학 전공교육 만족도는 일자리 만족도에 직접적으로 정적 영향을 미칠 뿐 아니라 내재적 직업가치관과 전공-일 일치도를 통해 간접적으로 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 대학에서의 진로·취업교육 참여도는 일자리 만족도에 부적 영향을 미쳤으며 내재적 직업가치관, 전공-일 일치도를 통한 매개효과는 유의하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 내재적 직업가치관과 전공-일 일치도는 일자리 만족도에 유의한 정적 영향을 미쳤다. 상기 연구결과에 터해 대학교육 차원에서 대졸청년층의 일자리 만족도를 높이기 위한 방안과 관련한 시사점을 논의하였다.

Noting the phenomenon, called tough entry, but immediate resignation among college graduates in South Korea, this study focused on intrinsic work values and major-job fit as precursors for the job satisfaction, which possibly results in reducing early resignation. Accordingly, to examine the relationships among college experiences, intrinsic work values, major-job fit, and job satisfaction of college graduates, we analyzed the data from the KEIS’s Graduates Occupational Mobility Survey (GOMS) 2018 using a structural equation model. The results are as follows: First, satisfaction with college major education not only had a direct positive effect on job satisfaction, but also indirectly affected it through intrinsic work values and major-job fit. Second, participation in career/vocational education at college had a negative effect on job satisfaction and but the mediating effects through intrinsic work values and major-job fit were found to be insignificant. Third, intrinsic work values and major-job fit had a significant positive effect on job satisfaction, respectively. Based on the results of the study, we discussed the educational implications for college education.
