Satisfaction about Dwelling and Factors in Selection of Dwelling According to Plans for one’s Old Age Later Years

In this study, we analyzed how satisfaction about dwelling influence on selection of dwelling by conducting path analysis on current satisfaction about dwelling and factors in selection of dwelling when households, in their 50s and 60s, living in capital area, want to move into a new house according to plans for their later years. Eight latent variables and thirty-five measured variables are used to set up a model. The relationship between satisfaction about dwelling and factors in selection of dwelling is analyzed and the effect of satisfaction about dwelling on selection of dwelling is analyzed statistically to deduce a conclusion as follows. Among latent variables, for accessibility, health·leisure, safety and neighborhood there was a statistically meaningful result that satisfaction about dwelling influences on selection of dwelling but not for blood ties (children, hometown). According to the analysis, among factors of satisfaction about dwelling, health·leisure is the most important factor which influence on selection of dwelling followed by neighborhood, safety and blood ties.
