A Study on Applicability of Urban Design in New Urbanism : Survey of Residents of Young-In

The main idea of New Urbanism is to construct sustainable and liable society through out the application of new land use methodologies. This study investigates how to apply the planning theory and elements of New Urbanism to Yong-in city. To accomplish the investigation, this study exams both of the literature review about the New Urbanism concept and the results of field survey. The literature review includes the comparison of the major planning concepts in the cases of developed countries. The results of field survey show that people prefer the planning elements of New Urbanism rather that those of the existing cities.
