Unlike general firms pursuing economic value, social entrepreneurs that emerge as a new economic entity of alternative capitalism aim to pursue social value and economic added-value, seeking the integration of local communities. This work was intended to analyze the factors to increase employment and the factors hindering an increase in employment by (preliminary) social entrepreneurs in Daejeon, and provide some suggestions. The analysis result revealed that 30 (preliminary) social entrepreneurs in Daejeon showed an increase in the employment of 206 people in vulnerable class. It was found that the factors to increase employment by (preliminary) social entrepreneurs are offering of government financial support , an increase in corporate sales , and the strategy of corporate investment and expansion . And, it was found that the factors hindering an increase in employment are difficulty in management environments , and difficulty in manpower supply . The work showed that it is necessary to expand financial support (including labor cost) and the support for facility expenses in order to promote (preliminary) social entrepreneurs. Therefore, it is required to raise social entrepreneurs intensively to help them have competitiveness as a new alternative industry to promote local employment.
