A Study on Low Income Housing Welfare Policy

The results of a study on low income housing policy are as follows. First, in regard to the outcome of an evaluation on low income housing policy, jeonse rental policy was rated highly in terms of efficiently. Meanwhile, the jeonse rental program was rated highly in terms of vertical fairness, while the low income jeonse rent subsidy was rated highly for horizontal fairness. Second, in regard to evaluation of the main issues related to the development and implementation of low income housing policy, linkages between housing development programs were rated as poor. In addition, it was found that the appropriateness of program type was rated somewhat negatively. Third, evaluation of the supply of public rental housing and related issues showed an awareness of the necessity for a broad increase in the supply of housing. It was found that many held strong opinions for the expansion of the national housing fund or public financing as necessary resources in the supply of public rental housing. In addition, respondents demonstrated a somewhat negative view of local governments taking over the role of public rental apartment provider from the federal government or the LH corporation.
