A Study on the Application of Korean Housing Supply System to Developing Countries in Southesat Asia

In Korea, the demand for housing has greatly increased in the high - growth period, especially in large cities. As a result, Korea has developed a housing supply system that can supply many houses in a short period of time. In particular, Korea has developed a system that can minimize the input of government s public funds and supply housing by utilizing private capital. Recently, developing countries in Southeast Asia, such as Vietnam and Myanmar, have housing problems similar to those of Korea in the period of high growth. Therefore, these countries are showing great interest in applying the Korean housing supply system. This study analyzes the development process of Korean housing supply system since 1970 s and examined the applicability to Southeast Asian countries. The study shows that it is necessary to apply Korea s housing supply system to Southeast Asian countries considering the similarity of market situation and direction of government policy. In particular, for the efficient application of the case in Korea, the selection of the eligible households and the consumer group according to the situation of each country, and the establishment of funding, subscription, and sales guarantee system using the private sector were proposed as priority tasks.
