디지털 읽기에 대한 대학생 독자의 인식 연구

A study on the perception of college students on digital reading

이 연구에서는 사범대학 국어교육과에 재학하고 있는 68명의 학생들을 대상으로디지털 읽기에 대한 인식을 조사하였다. 그 결론과 시사점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학생들의 디지털 기기 하루 평균 사용 시간은 11시간이 넘는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 비대면수업의 영향 때문이라고 할 수 있다. 둘째, 대학생들은 인쇄매체와전자매체 둘 다 선호하며 독서 목적과 상황에 따라 적절한 매체를 선택하는 것으로나타났다. 셋째, 대학생들의 읽기 방식에서 검색과 훑어 읽기, 핵심어 읽기, 일회적 읽기, 선택적 읽기, 비선형적 읽기는 증가하였고 주의 집중, 깊이 읽기, 집중해서 읽기는 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 대학생들은 이전 세대에 비해 전자텍스트 상황에서 메모하기나 강조하기를 더 자주 사용하는 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 대학생들은디지털 기기 사용 이후 읽기량이 증가한 것으로 나타났다. 여섯째, 대학생들은 디지털 매체가 읽기 능력과 읽기 태도에 부정적 영향을 미쳤다고 응답했다. 일곱째, 대학생들은 특정한 매체에 대한 편향을 보이기보다는 두 매체의 장단점을 잘 인식하고 있었다. 디지털 세대가 균형있는 읽기 능력과 태도를 갖추도록 하기 위해서는 디지털 읽기와 함께 인쇄텍스트 읽기를 촉진할 필요가 있다.

This study investigated the perception of digital reading among 68 students enrolled in the Department of Korean Language Education at the College of Education. Its conclusion and implications are as follows. First, it was found that the average daily use of digital devices by college students was over 11 hours. This can be attributed to the influence of non-face-to-face classes. Second, it was found that college students prefer both print media and digital media, and select the appropriate media according to the reading purpose and situation. Third, in the reading style of college students, searching and scanning, key word reading, one-time reading, selective reading, and non-linear reading increased, but attention on the text, deep reading, and focused reading decreased. Fourth, it was found that college students use notes or emphasis more frequently in digital text situations than the previous generation. Fifth, it was found that college students increased their reading amount after using digital devices. Sixth, college students responded that digital media had a negative effect on their reading ability and reading attitude. Seventh, college students were well aware of the strengths and weaknesses of both media. In order for the digital generation to have a balanced reading ability, it is necessary to expand the opportunities for access to printed text.
