The Tourism Recovery Policy Plans for Gangwon Province in Post Covid-19 Era

The COVID-19 has effects on the social environment including daily life and tourism industry. The purpose of this study is to explore tourism recovery policies in preparation for the post COVID-19 era. To this aim, literature review of previous research and case study on hybrid event was conducted. And It also explores to overcome the Pandemic era and suggest policy plans to revitalize local tourism. From the critical review of previous research and case study, 7 suggestions were identified as tourism recovery policies for Gangwon Province in post COVID-19 era. Differentiation strategies consist of 1) Respect the basic value of tourism, 2) Building an alternative tourism and new-normal tourism ecosystem, 3) Development of open tourist destinnaion, 4) Personalized tourism information service provision, 5) Restructuring the local tourism governance, 6) Implementation of IMC(integrated marketing communication strategy), 7) Development of marine leisure tourism products and contents. This study is expected to help policy makers understand post COVID-19 tourism in local government. Based on the analysis of previous studies, limitations and future research directions are also discussed.
