코로나 19 사태에서 중국유학생의 적응과정 사례연구

A Case Study on the Adaptation Process of Chinese Students in the Covid 19 Incident

목적 본 연구에서는 코로나 19 사태에서 중국 유학생의 생활적, 학업적, 심리적 적응과정에서 새로운 도전과 경험의 모습을 심층적으로 접근하여 사례분석하였다. 방법 한국에 체류하고 있는 중국인 유학생 7명, 한국 외에 기타 나라에서 유학하는 중국인 유학생 5명을 대상으로 접근한 질적 사례연구를 진행하였으며, COVID-19 사태에 적응하는 과정에서의 경험과 소감을 기록하고 분석하여 행동이나 심리적 변화의 특징을 밝히고자 하였다. 결과 본 연구는 서울에 거주하는 연령대, 학년, 전공이 다른 중국인 유학생들을 대상으로 기술관찰, 참여관찰, 심층 인터뷰 등 정성적 연구 방법을 통해 이들이 COVID-19 사태에 적응한 대표적인 양상과 사례를 살펴보았다 코로나19의 지속적인 확산에도 불구하고 학업을 계속하기 위해 한국에 남아 있던 중국 학생들은 경험과 감수성 면에서 한국이 아닌 다른 나라의 중국 학생들과 큰 차이를 발견했다. 이를 통해 다양한 조건의 유학생들과의 비교분석을 통해 다양한 조건에서 한국에서 생활하고 공부하는 유학생들의 고유한 특성을 살펴보고자 하였다. COVID-19 이전 중국 학생들의 일상생활, 학습경험, 정서적 스트레스가 크게 변했다는 특징을 발견했다. 한국에 있는 중국인 학생의 경험과 이야기는 한국이 아닌 다른 나라에 사는 중국인 학생의 경험과 달랐습니다. 이번 연구는 COVID-19라는 심각한 시기에 중국 학생들의 한국에서의 대학생활과 학습경험을 위기상황에서의 적응과 어려움이라는 측면에서 깊이 있게 보여주었고, 더욱 의미 있는 것은 그들이 위기상황에 적응하기 위해 계속해서 도전하고 어려움을 극복해 왔다는 점이다. 결론 연구 결과를 토대로 포스트 코로나 시대 중국 유학생들의 적응과정의 경험에 따른 개선방안을 제시하였다.

Objectives In this study, in-depth approach to new challenges and experiences in the life, academic, and psychological adaptation process of Chinese international students in the COVID-19 crisis was analyzed and case studies were conducted. Methods A qualitative case study was conducted with 7 Chinese international students residing in Korea, 5 Chinese students studying in countries other than Korea. The purpose of this study was to reveal the characteristics of behavior or psychological changes by recording and analyzing experiences and impressions in the process of adapting to the COVID-19 situation. Results This study explored representative aspects and examples of their adjustment to the COVID-19 incident through qualitative research methods such as descriptive observation, participatory observation, and in-depth interviews with Chinese students of different ages, grades, and majors in Seoul. During the study, Chinese students who remained in Korea to continue their studies despite the continued spread of COVID-19 found a big difference from Chinese students in countries other than Korea in terms of experience and sensitivity. Through this, it was intended to examine the unique characteristics of international students living and studying in Korea under various different conditions through comparison and analysis with international students under various different conditions. The found characteristics that Chinese students daily lives, learning experiences, and emotional stress changed significantly before the COVID-19. Conclusions Based on the research results, improvement plans were suggested according to the experiences of Chinese international students in the post-COVID-19 era of the adaptation process.
