은유 분석을 통해 본 학대, 체벌, 훈육에 대한 부모의 인식

Recognition of Parents on abuse, punishment, and discipline through metaphoric analysis

목적 본 연구는 은유 분석을 통해 학대, 체벌, 훈육에 대한 부모의 인식을 탐색하는 것이다. 방법 이를 위해 서울·경기 지역과 전북 지역에 영·유아 자녀가 있는 부모를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고, 최종적으로 189부를 은유 분석하였다. 자료 분석은 Moser(2000)의 은유 분석 방법을 참고하여 은유의 명명하기, 명명한 은유의 분류하기, 분석 단위 결정하기, 표본 은유 편집과 범주화하기, 양적 자료 분석하기 단계로 수행하였다. 결과 학대, 체벌, 훈육에 대한 은유를 범주화한 결과 학대는 아이에게 각인되는 것, 아이에게 위협적인 것, 아이에게 대물림되는 것, 아이를 가두는 것, 부모의 정신병적인 행위, 부모의 불합리한 행위, 세상에서 사라져야 하는 것으로 7가지로 분류되었다. 체벌은 부모의 자기 합리화, 부모가 강도를 높이게 되는 것, 부모의 잘못된 행동, 부모와 아이에게 도움이 되는 것, 부모와 아이에게 득실이 있는 것, 아이에게 전이되는 것, 아이에게 상처 주는 것으로 7가지로 분류되었다. 훈육은 부모의 과오, 부모의 조절이 필요한 것, 부모에게 어려운 것, 부모의 사랑, 부모와 아이에게 유익한 것, 아이를 안내하는 것으로 6가지로 분류되었다. 결론 이를 통해 학대, 체벌 훈육에 대한 부모의 인식을 탐색함으로써 아동학대와 체벌에 대한 인식을 개선하고 바람직한 훈육 방법을 배울 수 있는 체계적인 부모교육을 개발 및 실행하는데 기초자료를 제공한다는 점에 의의가 있다.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to investigate recognition of parents on abuse, punishment and discipline through metaphoric analysis. Methods For this purpose, 189 parents with young children in Seoul/Gyeonggi area and Jeonbuk area in a survey and their answers were analyzed. Results As result, recognition of parents on abuse were categorized into following 7 ideas: What is imprinted on the child, what is threatening to the child, what is passed down on to the child, what the child is imprisoned, the psychopathic behavior of the parents, the unreasonable behavior of the parents, what should disappear from the world. Metaphors on punishment revealed 7 categories: Self-rationalization, parental strength, parental misbehavior, parents and child benefit, parents and child benefit, transfer to child, hurt child. Metaphors on discipline revealed 6 categories: Parental error, parental control, parental hardship, parental love, parents and child beneficial, guiding the child. Conclusions This study has its significance in that it provides basic data for developing and implementing systematic parenting education that can improve awareness of child abuse and punishment and learn desirable methods of discipline by exploring parents recognition of abuse, punishment and discipline.
