청년영성교육을 위한 교회의 과제

Spiritual Educational Tasks for the Young Adult in the Korean Protestantism

청년은 오늘의 교회와 국가의 역군이면서 내일을 책임질 세대이기에 오늘 그들의 가치관과 삶을 살피면 내일의 교회와 국가의 장래를 예측하게 된다. 그러한 이유에서 오늘의 기독청년들이 건강한 가치관에 기초한 삶을 살아가도록 돕는 일은 그들의 신앙과 교육을 책임지고 있는 교회가 감당해야할 사명이다. 이를 위해 요청되는 것이 오늘의 기독청년들은 건강하게 성장하고 있는지? 그렇지 못하다면 문제가 무엇인지를 알아야하고 오늘의 교회는 그들의 문제해결과 발달에 어떤 도움을 주고 있는지를 살펴 그들을 효과적으로 돕는 방안을 모색해야 한다. 이를 위해 이 연구는 다음과 같이 전개 된다. 1장 들어가는 말에서 연구의 필요성과 목적을, 2장 시대정신과 기독청년들이 형성해야 할 영성에서는 포스트모더니즘(postmodernism)이 기독청년의 가치관에 미치는 영향과 그들에게 요구되는 영성형성과제를 찾고, 3장 청년들의 영성형성과제에서 본 오늘의 한국교회의 현실 진단에서는 오늘의 교회가 이 과제를 수행함에 있어 야기되는 문제점을 진단해 본다. 그리고 4장 청년영성을 위한 교회의 과제에서는 청년영성교육 패러다임에 따른 교회가 감당해야할 과제를 모색하여 제안한다. 이 연구를 통해 연구자가 발견한 것은 청년영성교육을 위해서는 그들을 위한 영성교육의 새로운 패러다임이 필요하다는 것이다. 이 패러다임에는 개신교영성의 추구, 전인적 성숙 신앙과 그리스도인이 관계하는 모든 삶의 영역(내면, 대인, 대 사회, 세계, 자연)에서 책임을 감당하는 일 등이 포함된다는 것이다. 이 연구가 오늘의 청년들의 영성형성과제에 기독교교육학의 이론과 실제를 제공함으로 한국교회의 청년영성형성 과제를 효과적으로 수행해 나가는 데 도움을 주게 될 것이다.

The young adults are not inferiors in the churches and the states, but preparing for the full membership. It is one of the challenging tasks for the Korean Protestant Church to help them to live with authentically valued life. It is necessary to ask the question, “Will contemporary young Christians grow healthy?” If not, their underlying problems are to be explored and solved. The Church has pursued effective ways to help them to solve their problems and facilitate their maturity. This article is composed of 4 chapters. In its first chapter the aims and needs of this research are elaborated. In the second chapter the effects of the postmodernism on the young Christians’ systems of value are analyzed and the tasks for their spiritual formation are suggested. In the third chapter there appears a reality testing on their spiritual formation for the Church. It is a discussion over what prohibits the Church from carrying out the tasks. In the last chapter the Church’s tasks based on the young Christian spiritual education paradigm are constructed and presented. The results of this research lies in the need of the new spiritual education paradigm for the sake of the young Christians’ spiritual education. The paradigm includes pursue to the Protestant spirituality, wholistic mature faith, responsibility in all of their (psychological, interpersonal, social, global, and ecological) areas of life, and so on. This will contribute to the Church’s effective achievements in its mission for their spiritual formation by providing the Christian educational framework of theory and practice.
