멀티미디어 환경과 기독교교육의 대처방안 연구

A Study on Multimedia Environment and the Countermeasures of Christian Education

본 논문은 일상생활에 보편화되어 있는 멀티미디어 환경 속에서의 기독교교육의 역할과 이에 대한 대처방안을 연구함에 목적이 있다. 이와 같은 연구가 요청되는 것은 멀티미디어의 대표 기기인 인터넷과 스마트 폰 등에 의하여 전달되는 각종 정보들이 듣고, 보고, 느낄 수 있도록 하여 생활 및 교육환경을 개선하고 있기 때문이다. 즉, 교육의 시·공간 제한성으로 부터의 자유, 수요자 중심의 눈높이 맞춤형 교육, 다양한 연령층의 참여적 학습, 이로 인한 긴밀한 상호소통 등을 가능케 하기 때문이다. 또한 멀티미디어의 정보의 공유와 확산으로 평등의식이 보편화되고 소수가 지배 및 소유하던 사상, 권력과 지식의 영향력이 일반 계층으로 확대되어 긴밀한 상호 의사소통으로 삶의 다양성이 대중적 생활양식으로 표출되고 있기 때문이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 기독교교육의 신앙교육 현장에서는 여전히 개선 없는 전통적 신앙지도가 지속됨으로 인하여 이러한 상황과 환경에 적응하지 못하거나 신앙교육의 동기가 부여되지 못하는 어린이와 청소년들이 부정적 반응을 보임으로 한국 기독교의 또 다른 위기 현상을 초래하고 있기 때문이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 멀티미디어 시대 환경변화에 기독교교육이 능동적으로 수행해야 할 역할과 이를 위하여 개선되어야 할 요인들을 전공 영역과 신앙교육 현장 영역으로 구분하여 그 대안점들을 모색해 보았다. 그러나 멀티미디어의 특성상 이미지 과잉으로 인하여 나타나는 비현실적이고 상징적인 봄(seekng)의 허상과 정보 과잉접촉으로 인하여 발생되는 시대적 소음 현상에 대해서는 이에 대한 지속적이고 심도 있는 연구가 요청되어 후속 과제로 제안하였다.

The purpose of this article is to seek some countermeasures of Christian Education in the multimedia era that is becoming increasingly common in our everyday life. This study is being requested because typical multimedia devices such as internet and smart phone are improving the quality of educational environment through passing on all sorts of Information by means of hearing, seeing, and feeling. Multimedia environment promoted freedom from the limitations of space and time, a customized education suited to consumers, and participatory learning of various ages resulting in close interaction and communication. The sharing and spread of information through multimedia boosted an egalitarian learning society. Idea, knowledge, and power that was exclusive to a few professionals in the past are extended to general civilian population. Nevertheless, the field of Christian Education still tends to remain traditional ways of teaching and nurturing people without any striking improvements. These educational surroundings in the field of Christian Education bring about negative reactions and hostile feedbacks especially among children and youth. In this sense, this article explored how Christian Education can perform an active role in the multimedia era and suggested some alternatives by classifying into two areas in relation with Christian Education: academic area and practical area. Due to the nature of multimedia, however, a distorted phenomenon that is caused by the illusion of unrealistic image and the excessive contact of information proposed as a follow-up task because they are required continuous and in-depth study.
