교사로서의 역사적 예수 연구

Jesus as a Jewish Teacher

이 논문은 이른바 ‘예수의 르네상스’로 규정될 정도로 활발하게 진행되는 최근의 연구결과를 기초로 유대적 관점에서 교사로서의 예수를 조망한다. 논문의 과제를 서술하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구를 위한 예비 작업으로서 20세기 후반부터 본격화된 역사적 예수에 관한 기존의 연구주제들을 개략적으로 검토한다. 이와 같은 작업을 통해서 여러 학자들이 다양하게 시도한 바 있는 역사의 예수에 관한 연구결과들을 어느 정도 확인할 수 있다. 둘째, 유대 교사(랍비)로서의 예수의 교육적 배경에 관한 논의를 살펴본다. 그 과정에서 유대인들의 교육제도와 그것을 통한 ‘예수상’(gestalt of Jesus)이 부분적으로 드러나게 된다. 셋째, 유대 교사로서 예수가 자신의 교육에 적극적으로 활용했지만 지금껏 기독교교육학에서 제대로 조명을 받지 못했던 주제들을 몇 가지 거론한다. 끝으로, 전체적인 요약과 더불어서 추후 지속되어야 할 교사로서의 역사적 예수 연구에 관한 연구 과제들을 제안한다. 이를 위해서 1장의 문제 제기 이후에 2장은 역사적 예수 연구와 논제들(역사의 예수, 연구방법론, 유대인 예수)을 거론한다. 계속해서 3장은 랍비 예수의 교육적 배경(랍비 호칭, 문해력, 교육배경)을 논의하고, 4장은 유대 랍비 예수의 교육방법들(비유, 공동 식사, 유대 절기)을 유대적 관점에서 서술한다.

Since the late 20th century, there has been a ‘renaissance’ of historical Jesus research. This renaissance has produced an abundance of Jesus studies that show a diversity of methods, approaches and a large vari-ety of topics. Based on such studies, this article explores a con-temporary and comprehensive results offered up by influential schol-ars(H. Reimarus & D. Strauss to E. Sanders) on the historical Jesus as a Jewish teacher(rabbi) in order to find implications for Christian education. In relation to this, different kinds of issues(brief history of the Jesus research, methodology, Jesus as Jew) with regards to the his-torical Jesus are discussed. Also, several topics like Jesus as ⑴ Jewish rabbi, ⑵ his literacy and ⑶ his educational background are consid-ered respectively. The article continues to describe Jesus’ teaching methods(his parables, table fellowship, Jewish festivals) in more detail. Finally, it remarks upon the limits of the study and suggestions for the direction of further research.
