‘만인 제사장직’교리에 비추어 본 기독교교육의 과제

Tasks of Christian Education Based on the Doctrine of the ‘Priesthood of All Believers’

오늘날 한국교회는 신뢰를 잃어버리면서 교회 안과 밖으로부터 많은 도전을 받고 있다. 특히 2017년 종교개혁 500주년이 되는 해이기에 많은 이들이 종교개혁 정신을 되짚어 보고 갱신을 위한 노력을 기울이고 있다. 이와 비슷한 맥락에서 본 논문은 종교개혁 정신의 중심에 있는 ‘만인 제사장직’교리의 내용과 특징을 고찰해 봄으로써 기독교교육에 주는 도전과 과제를 모색해보고자 하는데 그 목적이 있다. 본 논문은 세 부분으로 구성되어 있는데, 첫째 부분은 만인 제사장직 이해를 돕기 위해 구약 성경과 초대교회 당시의 제사장에 관한 이해를 살펴보고, 둘째 부분은 마틴 루터의 ‘만인 제사장직’ 교리의 내용과 특징을 살펴보고, 마지막으로 만인 제사장직 교리가 기독교교육에 주는 도전을 고찰해보고 기독교교육을 위한 과제가 무엇인지를 제안하는 것으로 이루어져있다

The Korean church today is confronted by challenges, both internal and external, due to the loss of trust. As we face the five-hundredth anniversary of the Reformation in 2017, many scholars and those who are interested in reforming the Korean church are trying to find some clues as to how this lost trust may be recovered. In a similar vein, the purpose of this study is to critically examine the doctrine of the ‘priesthood of all believers.’ In doing so, the author tries to explore some challenges to Christian education and suggest some educational proposals to address them. This article consists of three main parts. The first part deals with the background of the doctrine in which the understanding of priesthood appeared in the Old Testament and Early Christian Church. The second part is about Luther s doctrine of the ‘priesthood of all believers.’ This part probes the content and features of the doctrine in detail. Lastly, the challenges of this doctrine in light of Christian education are explored and the author suggests the educational tasks and practices implied by the doctrine of the ‘priesthood of all believers.’
