Design of Packet Collision Probability Reduction Algorithm on VANET

The IEEE 802.11p standard supporting the vehicular ad-hoc network (VANET) is based on the 802.11 MAC protocol, which allows equal opportunities for channel acquisition from all nodes in the network. Further, the nodes are leveled downward, and the probability of collision increases as the number of nodes increases. In this study, we observe the effects of reducing the collision probability when the algorithm where the current node of channel acquisition maintains competitive advantage for a certain period of time and OBA algorithm to appropriately determine the continuous transmission limit according to the transmission rate are applied together.
