명말 청루(靑樓) 화가 설소소(薛素素)의 서화에 관한 연구

A study on calligraphy and painting of XueSusu, an artist of Brothel in later Ming Dynasty

이 글은 만 명의 청루(靑樓) 화가 설소소(薛素素)의 서화 예술의 성취를 모색해 보고자 하는 의도에서 기획되었다. 또한, 설소소의 예술적 성취가 갖는 의미가 오늘날의 여성주의 안에서 어떻게 재창조 할 수 있을 것인가를 고민하는 작업의 일환이기도 하다. 이상의 문제의식을 효과적으로 다루기 위해 논문은 다음과 같은 과정으로 접근하고자 한다. 먼저 명 말의 사회적 상황과 철학적인 배경을 알아보면서 그 안에서 명 말의 청루 문화가 탄생할 수밖에 없었던 이유를 밝히는 작업에서부터 시작한다. 이를 통해 설소소로 대표되는 청루 화가의 행렬이 이전 시대의 청루 문화와는 다른 의미를 가지고 있음을 드러내고자 하였다. 다음으로 설소소의 교유관계를 살펴봄으로써 설소소의 내면세계와 회화 풍격의 변화 요인을 살펴보고 이것이 실제 서화작품에서 어떻게 반영되었는지를 살펴보고자 한다. 이를 통해 설소소의 예술적 성취가 가지는 의의를 모색하고자 한다.

This article was designed to seek an achievement of calligraphic artist of XueSusu, an artist of Brothel in later Ming Dynasty. In addition, this article is a part of the work to consider how meaning of artistic achievement of XueSusu can be recreated within feminism today. We tried to approach this theme with the following process to effectively deal with the above critical mind in this paper. This begins by revealing the reason why Brothel culture was inevitably created in later Ming Dynasty while examining the social situation and philosophical background of later Ming Dynasty. Through this, we tried to reveal that the procession of Brothel artists who were represented by XueSusu had different meaning from Brothel cultures of the previous era. And then we will examine association Relationship of XueSusu to see the causes for change of inner world of XueSusu and painting style and how these were reflected in the actual calligraphy and painting works. Therefore, we will seek the significance of artistic achievement of XueSusu and sound out the possibility which this significance can meet with modern feminism.
