고등학교 경력 교사의 온라인 수업 경험에 대한 내러티브 탐구

A Narrative Inquiry into Experienced High School Teachers’ Online-Class Experience

본 연구는 고등학교에 근무하는 현직 교사의 온라인 수업 경험 탐구를 목적으로 인간의 경험 이해를 다루는 내러티브 연구방법에 의해 수행되었다. 이러한 목적을 위해 연구 퍼즐은 ‘고등학교경력교사의 온라인 수업 경험은 어떠한가?’, ‘온라인 수업 경험은 교사로서의 삶에 어떤 의미를형성하는가?’로 설정하였다. 연구 참여자는 수도권에 위치한 여자고등학교에 20년 이상 근무한두 명의 교사들이며 인터뷰와 심층면담을 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료들은 내러티브탐구방법론의 분석과정을 거쳤으며 탐구 결과는 다음과 같다. 각각의 연구 참여자의 온라인 수업 경험과 그 경험이 교사로서의 삶에 주는 의미로는 ‘예상치 못한 장벽’, ‘온라인, 내 수업을 못하다’, ‘변화, 피할 수 없는 아픔’과 ‘낯설지 않은 새로움’, ‘생각의 전환, 장점이 보이다’, ‘코로나19, 긍정적 수업의 변화를 앞당기다’로 제시하였다. 이에 따라 온라인 수업 경험은 코로나19 이전의온라인 경험의 유무와 교과의 특성, 교사로서의 신념에 따라 개별화된 의미를 형성하고 있음을알 수 있었다. 끝으로 연구 참여자의 목소리를 통해 드러난 학교 현장에서의 생생한 온라인 수업경험은 향후 학교의 온라인 수업 발전 방향에 다양한 함의를 부여할 수 있음을 제시하였다.

This study was conducted by narrative inquiry dealing with understanding of human experience for the purpose of exploring the experience of online class of experienced teachers working in high school. For this purpose, the research question was set as ‘What is the experience of online class of experienced high school teachers?’ and ‘What is the meaning of online class experience in life as a teacher?’, The participants were two teachers who worked at a girls’ high school located in the metropolitan area for more than 20 years, and data were collected through interviews and in-depth interviews. The collected data were analyzed by a narrative inquiry methodology and the results of the inquiry are as follows. The meanings of each participant’s online class experience and experience in their lives as a teacher are defined as ‘an unexpected barrier’, ‘going online, I can’t proceed with my class’, ‘change, the inevitable pain’, ‘not unfamiliar newness ‘, ‘change your thinking, see the benefits’, ‘COVID-19, advance the positive change of classes’. The results showed that the online class experience forms individualized meanings, depending on the pre-experience of online class before COVID-19, the characteristics of the subject, and the commitment as a teacher. Lastly, the vivid experiences with online class in the school field revealed through the voice of the participants of the study are expected to provide various implications to the direction of the development of online classes in the future.
