許筠이 본 蘇齋 盧守愼 詩의 美的 특질

A study on esthetic characteristics of poems written by Sojae, Noh Su-shin : Focused on the comments of Heo Gyun in Gukjo-sisan

蘇齋 盧守愼은 陳師道, 黃庭堅 등으로 대표되는 중국 강서시파의 영향을 받아 海東江西詩派를 형성한 湖蘇芝 三家의 일원으로 병칭되지만, 중년 이후에는 唐風, 특히 杜詩를 학습하여 이후 三唐詩人에게 상당한 영향을 주었던 시인으로 평가된다. 허균은 자신의 시화집인 『성수시화』와 『학산초담』에서 시인으로서의 소재를 높이 평가했는데, 특히 두시를 체득한 점, 오언율시의 대가라는 점, 구법이 온당하고 표현이 자연스러운 점 등에 주목하였다. 그리고 시선집 『국조시산』에서 구체적인 批評을 가하여 그 실체를 설명하였다. 본고에서는 『국조시산』을 중심으로 허균이 소재의 시를 어떻게 평가했는가를 집중적으로 고찰하였다. 허균은 소재가 두보의 시를 학습하여 그 본체를 터득했다고 보았는데, 실제 소재의 시를 분석해 보면 두시의 단순한 인용이나 點化가 아닌, 한층 더 높은 수준의 변용과 구사가 이루어졌다는 사실을 알 수 있다. 다음으로 허균은 소재의 시가 工緻하다고 평가했는데, 소재의 시를 분석해 본 결과 주제와 형식, 시상의 흐름, 시어의 운용 등에 있어서 매우 정교하고 치밀한 솜씨가 돋보임을 알 수 있다. 또한 허균은 소재의 시가 雄奇한 품격을 지녔다고 평했는데, 시를 분석한 결과 그 웅장함과 돌올함 속에는 섬세하고 왜소한 시인 자신에 대한 인식이 내포되어 독특한 미감을 발산하고 있음을 알 수 있다.

Sojae, Noh Su-shin is well known for a member of Haedong-Gangseosipa(海東江西詩派). Also he learned Tang poetry, especially poems of Tufu(杜甫), after his middle life, and then he had an big impact on Samdang-poets(三唐詩人). Heo Gyun wrote two books of poetry criticism, Seongsu-sihwa(惺叟詩話) and Haksan-chodam(鶴山樵談). He praised ability of Sojae as a poet in these books. He specially took notice of Sojae’s pomes in three points: One, Sojae mastered how to write poems like Tufu. Two, Sojae was a master of ottava rima with five characters to a line. Three, the poetic phraseology and expression in Sojae’s poems are very proper and natural. Heo Gyun explained esthetic characteristics of Sojae’s poems, by making comment on his poems concretely in Gukjo-sisan(國朝詩刪), the selection of poems by Heo Gyun. In this paper, I studied how Heo Gyun made an evaluation of Sojae’s poetry based on his comment in Gukjo-sisan. He thought that Sojae learned Tufu’s poetry and mastered the way of writing poems like Tufu. I analyzed Sojae’s poems meticulously, then I could find that Sojae made not mere quotation or change, but a high level of command and transformation of Tufu’s poetry. Second, Heo Gyun told that Sojae’s poems were very complicated and refined(Gong-chi). When we read Sojae’s poems, we will see that he wrote poems ingeniously and elaborately from all aspects of themes, forms, poetic sensibility, and poetical language. Third, Heo Gyun told that Sojae’s poems had a magnificent and whimsical(Woong-gi) atmosphere. After reading his poems, I found a delicate and puny man in the huge and grand world. It give us a unique feeling, like a kind of aesthetic feeling or philosophical reflection.
