The location of Han Dynasty Commandery of Lelang is important topic in both Korean ancient history and Northeast ancient history. According to China literatures, this Lelang commanderies were located in Yoseo region, China. However, in modern era, there were claims that Han Lelang commanderies were established in the Korean peninsula. The viewpoint of the Han Lelang commanderies located in the Korean peninsula was based on the fact that toponym of Lelang did not find in the Korean history literature The Chronicles of the Three States after A.D. 313. Korean historians have interpreted this record as Goguryeo ousted or annihilated the Lelang commanderies. However, in the China ancient literatures the Lelang had remained for 700 years through several Dynasty of China. Korean historic academy explained this controversial issue with the concept of ‘movement of commanderies.’ It means that Lelang commanderies located in Korean peninsula moved into South Manchuria by attack of the King Micheon of Goguryeo. In fact, the Lelang commanderies continued to exist even though Dynasty was changed. When analysis of these historic records, Lelang did not be expelled from the Korean peninsula to South Manchuria. The evidence of China literature argues that Han Lelang commanderies were remained for about 700 years in West Liaoning province having moved slightly this area.
