The present paper aims to suggest a new approach to the investigation of causative and passive in the Mongolian language and its dialects, and to deepen our theoretical understanding of the voice in Mongolian. In this paper, I mainly describe that the ambiguity between the causative and passive in Mongolian dialects arises from the fact that the so-called causative suffix -UUL additionally has a passive meaning. I also discuss the distribution of the so-called causative suffix -UUL and the passive suffix -gd in passive expression.
