In Mongolia, the national sports festival is called Nagadam - the most famous celebration of the traditional way. Today`s Mongolian nagadam festivals which consist of Wrestling, Acrhery and Horse-racing is well known as the Three Main Gates of Men. General speaking, Mongolian Nagadam festivals is rooted in the mists of antiquity. This work comprises pieces of the study an Nagadam festivals of the northern nomadic people from Hun-na(7) times to Modem Mongolia. Part I, A bibliographical study of the origin of Nagadam, consists of two chapters including from Hun-na(7) times to Modern Mongolia. Chapter 1: A Bibliographical study of the Nagadam of the ancient northern nomadic people, tried to explain about the orgin of Nagadam of the ancient northern nomadic people from Hun-na(LY) tires to Chin dynasty. As a result of this work, Mongolian nagadam festivals have very rich folkloric traditions which have been kept alive for two thousand centuries due to the characteristics of ancient northern nomadic people. Chapter 2: A bibliographical study of the Mongolian Nagadam Festivals, tried to explain and analysis about similarity and difference of Nagadam system between Mongolia and early northern nomadic people. As a result of this work, I find out that Mongolian nagadam festivals more reflect the characteristics of Mongolia region s people than early northern nomadic people. And each region of Mongolia has its characteristic form with particular costumes.
