XBRL 공시정보 활용 사례

Mining Korea XBRL Filings：Focusing on Consolidated Statements, Fiscal Periods, Restatements

[연구목적] 본 연구는 국내 XBRL 공시정보의 활용사례를 소개하고, 이를 통해 XBRL 재무정보 이용의 활성화를 유도하고자 하였다. 기존 재무정보 서비스 업체에서 제공하는 자료와 비교검증을 통해 XBRL 공시정보의 고유한 장점을 도출하고 이를 바탕으로 XBRL 공시자료의 활용 사례를 유형화하여 제시하였다. [연구방법] 사업보고서에 첨부된 XBRL 공시정보와 대표적인 재무정보 서비스 업체(KIS-Value)가 제공하는 주요 계정과목의 금액을 비교 검증하여 일치하지 않는 사례를 분석하였다. [연구결과] 2020년 사업보고서에 첨부된 XBRL 공시정보를 활용하여 검토한 결과, KIS-Value에서는 연결총자산 금액을 제공하지 않으나 XBRL에서는 연결총자산 금액을 공시한 사례가 89건(＝21건＋68건) 존재하였다. 사업연도가 12개월 미만인 사례는 4건(2015년 이후로는 총 50건) 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 연결총자산 금액을 최초 공시한 후, 연결총자산 금액을 수정(연결재무제표 재작성)한 사례가 123건 존재함을 확인하였다. [연구의 시사점] 기존 재무정보 서비스 업체(KIS-Value)에서 제공하지 않는 정보를 XBRL 공시자료를 활용하여 확인할 수 있는 사례를 본 연구에서 소개하였다. 특히 주 재무제표인 연결재무제표의 존재 여부, 사업연도의 12개월 미만 여부, 재무제표의 재작성 여부 등은 정보 이용자의 의사결정에 직접적인 영향을 미칠 수 있는 사항들이다. 본 연구를 통해 XBRL 공시자료의 이용이 보다 활성화되고, 이를 통해 기업 작성하는 XBRL 공시자료의 표준화 및 품질향상을 유도하는 선순환을 형성하고자 하였다.

[Purpose] This study shows practical examples of using Korea XBRL filings. The financial data from the XBRL filings is compared with the data obtained from a commercial aggregator. This paper will facilitate using the XBRL filings by illustrating its potential. [Methodology] This study analyzes the consolidated financial statements of listed companies in the Korean stock market. Potential benefits of the XBRL filings are proposed based on the various discrepancies between the XBRL filings and the commercial financial data aggregator. [Findings] There is no major discrepancy between the XBRL data and the KIS-Value dataset regarding the amounts of the total assets. However, a considerable number of consolidated financial statements are not available from the data aggregator (KIS-Value). In addition, by using the XBRL, it is possible to identify restatements and companies which have more than two fiscal year-ends within one calendar year. [Implications] The active usage of XBRL filings would be the main motivator for XBRL preparers to produce the high quality XBRL filings. The illustrated examples in this study will facilitate the usage of Korea XBRL filings, which will also lead to the higher quality of XBRL disclosure.
