영산강 하류권 마한 정치체의 성장과 변동과정

Growth and change process of Mahan political body in the lower Yeongsan River

본 논문에서는 삼포천유역 고분의 변천양상을 통해 마한 정치체의 성장과 변동과정을 살펴보았다. 제형분 단계에는 삼포천유역의 정치체가 마한 소국으로 성장하는 과정에서 제형분으로 정형화되고, 기존 목관(곽)묘를 대체하여 새로운 묘제인 옹관묘를 사용하면서 정체성을 극대화하였다. 이는 남해만을 통한 선진문물의 수용과 교류 등의 상호관계가 활발하였고, 방형분·원형분 출현은 삼포천유역의 마한세력이 성장하는 과정에서 보이는 과도기적 모습으로 이해된다. 고총고분 단계에 반남면 일대는 마한의 대수장으로 성장하여 마한의 토착적인 정체성(옹관묘)이 강하였고, 시종면 일대는 중심지가 반남면 일대로 옮긴 이후에도 남해만을 이용해 다양한 선진문물의 수용과 변이를 통해서 쌍무덤처럼 지속적으로 성장하였다. 한편 옹관묘에서는 소옹 주변에 대호를 부장하는 음식공헌의례가 일반화되는 정체성을 극대화하였다. 이렇듯 마한 정치체가 외부의 선진적인 정치체와의 상호 교류·교섭관계를 통해 성장을 도모하고 내부 경쟁력을 강화하고자 하였다. 백제석실분 단계는 반남면 일대를 중심으로 대안리·흥덕리·덕산리고분군에 집중적으로 분포하고 있어 여전히 그 위상은 높았다. 만봉천유역의 송제리고분군은 백제가 영산강유역을 공략하기 위한 방편으로 조성된 것으로 백제화과정을 이해하는데 매우 중요하다. 백제석실분에서는 의관제와 관련된 은화관식과 장신구, 백제계토기 등의 부장과 목관이라는 매장방식이 일반화되었다.

This paper examines the changes of the tombs in the Sampocheon Basin along with the growth and change process of the Mahan political body. At the stage of trapezoidal tombs, the tombs were standardized into trapezoidal tombs as the political body of the Sampocheon Basin grew into the Mahan states. And by replacing the existing wooden coffin tombs and using a new tomb system, the jar coffin tombs, the identity was maximized. Interrelationships such as the acceptance and exchange of advanced culture through the Namhae Bay were active, and the appearance of square and round tombs is understood as a transitional state seen in the process of the growth of Mahan forces in the Sampocheon area. During the ancient tomb stage, the area around Bannam-myeon grew into a great chieftain of Mahan, and it had the strong indigenous identity of Mahan (the jar coffin tombs) and even after the center was moved to Bannam-myeon, Sijong-myeon continued to grow like a twin tomb through the acceptance and transformation of various advanced cultures using Namhae Bay. On the other hand, in the case of the jar coffin tombs, as the food contribution ritual to bury large pots around small jars became common, identity was maximized. As such, Mahan political body sought to promote growth and strengthen internal competitiveness through mutual exchanges with advanced external political bodies. The status of the Baekje stone chamber tomb was still high as it was concentrated in the Daean-ri, Heungdeok-ri, and Deoksan-ri ancient tombs around Bannam-myeon. The Songje-ri ancient tombs in the Manbongcheon Basin were created as a way for Baekje to attack the Yeongsan River Basin, and are very important for understanding the process of becoming Baekje. In Baekje stone chamber tombs, wood coffins and the burial method of burying silver crowns related to attire system, ornaments, and Baekje earthenware became common.
