이 연구의 목적은 창조에 대한 음악적, 성경신학적 접근을 통해 하나님의 창조가 교회음악적으로 어떠한 의미를 갖고 있으며 창조 신앙을 갖고 있는 교회음악인은 어떠한 태도로 음악을 해야 하는지 고찰해 보는 것이다. 창세기 1:1-5는 하나님께서 행하신 창조의 시작을 보여주는데, 음악의 기초가 되는 시간과 소리의 시작도 보여준다. 이것은 결국 음악의 실제적인 기원이 창조주 하나님이시라는 말이다. 창조를 통해 하나님께서는 음악에 필요한 다양한 재료들을 만드셨다. 자연세계는 선율, 화성, 리듬 등 음악적 요소들의 모형이나 단편들을 많이 포함하고 있다. 따라서 창조된 세계는 음악의 재료가 된다. 하나님의 창조성은 예술적 창조성으로서 하나님의 형상대로 창조된 인간은 하나님의 형상에서 발현되는 예술적 창조성으로 음악을 만든다. 교회음악은 그러한 창조성의 한 산물로서 교회음악인은 교회음악을 통해 예술적 창조성을 풍부하게 나타내야 한다. 또한, 교회음악인은 예술적 창조성을 지니신 하나님을 바라보며 예술적이고 창조적인 삶을 살아야 하며, 하나님께서 ‘보시기에 좋은’, 즉 그가 기뻐하실 수 있는 음악을 만들기 위해 최선을 다해야 한다.
The purpose of this study is to examine the meaning of God’s creation in church music and the musical attitude of church musicians who believe in His creation from a musical and biblical perspective. Genesis 1:1-5 shows the beginning of God’s creation, where the advent of time and sound, basic elements of music, takes place. This indicates that the true origin of music is God the Creator. God provided numerous basic materials which are fundamental for music. This is conspicuously manifested in the created world, where a copious amount of sources and fragments of musical elements such as melody, harmony, and rhythm is stored. God’s creativity is artistic creativity, and man created in His image makes music with the artistic creativity derived from the image of God. Church music is a product of such creativity, and church musicians possess the obligation to demonstrate this artistic creativity to the highest possible degree in their music. In addition, they must live an artistic and creative life while looking up to God for artistic inspiration, and must do their best to make music that is good in His sight, in other words, that can please Him.
