코로나19가 한국경제에 미치는 영향에 대한 성경경제학적 고찰

An Influence of the Covid-19 on the Korea Economy and Its Implication of the Biblical Economics Perspective

코로나19가 우리나라 경제에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고 성경경제학 (biblical economics) 관점에서 시사하는 바를 살펴보았다. 코로나가 경제에 끼친 영향은 무엇보다도 경제적 불평등을 더 악화시키고 있다는 점이다. 취약계층의 일자리 감소가 더 심각하며 더딘 경제회복과 함께 물가상승이 우려됨을 살펴봤다. 그리고 코로나로 인해 파생된 여러 가지 문제점들을 성경경제학적인 관점에서 고찰했다. 이해관계자자본주의의 등장 및 ESG, 경제적불평등 및 건강 형평성 이슈, 경제적 약자 보호, 경제민족주의, 그리고 Big Brother 적인 큰 정부 등에 대한 이슈를 성경경제학적인 관점에서 고찰했다. 성경은 우리에게 코로나 앞에서 낮아지고 겸손해지라는 것이다. 그리고 이웃과 함께 더불어 살아가야 하는 공동체 정신을 일깨워 주고 있다.

This paper looks into the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Korean economy and its implications in the Biblical economics perspectives. The Covid-19 pandemic has heavily hit the Korean economy as it causes a sharp decline in economic growth and employment. Job losses have been most serious among the young people and the lower tiers of labor market such as daily workers and short-term contracted employees. The Covid-19 pandemic is expected to worsen economic inequalities already in progress. In addition, this paper examines inflation possibilities after the Covid-19 pandemic, which cannot be ruled out considering the central bank’s interest rate policy position. Discussions in this paper about the influence of the Covid-19 pandemic on the Korean economy are based on the Biblical Economics perspective: transition from shareholder capitalism to stakeholder capitalism, care for the poor, attention to economic and health inequalities, precautions against economic nationalism and the protection of aliens, and possible abuses of Big Brother government warned in the Bible.
