해방 전후 한경직 목사의 삶과 사상적 특징 연구

A study on the life and ideological characteristics of Pastor Han Gyeong-Chik before and after liberation

본 논문의 목적은 한경직 목사의 삶과 사상적 특징을 연구하는 것이다. 한경직은 한국 근현대사에 있어 대표적 개신교 지도자로서 많은 업적을 남겼다. 그러나 그에 관한 연구는 주로 목회자로서의 삶과 봉사 활동, 해방 이후 기독교 건국과 관련한 정치·사회적 활동에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 이러한 연구는 교회 지도자로서의 한경직의 삶을 조명하였고, 이후 역사적 활동의 영역을 국가로 확장하는 등 나름의 의미를 가지고 있다. 하지만 다소 부족한 점으로 크게 2가지를 말할 수 있다. 먼저 해방 정국에서 그가 보여주었던 정치적 발언을 볼 때 그는 개신교인에게 ‘정교분리’가 아닌 정치적 활동을 주장하고 있다. 이는 종교인의 정교분리라는 선험적 논의가 한경직 연구에 그대로 덧입혀진 느낌이 강하다. 따라서 여기에 관한 역사적 의미를 다루어야 한다고 본다. 다른 하나는 정치적 활동에 대한 의견을 분석한 논문에서도 그의 정치 활동의 사상적 연원이 어디에서 비롯되는지를 정치하게 밝혀내지를 못하고 있다. 본고에서는 이에 관한 답을 내고자 한다.

The purpose of this paper is to study the life and ideological characteristics of Pastor Han Kyung Chik. He was a representative Protestant leader in modern and contemporary Korean history. However, research on him focuses mainly on life and volunteer work as a pastor. And it is only talking about political and social activities related to the foundation of Christianity after liberation. These studies shed light on the lives of church leader Han Kyung Chik and expanded the scope of historical activities to the nation. But I can say two things in a big way because of the shortcomings. First of all, given his political remarks in the liberation regime, he claims political activities, not “separation of church and state” to Protestants. Therefore, I think we should deal with the historical implications of this. The other is also a problem in a paper that analyzes opinions on political activities. In other words, it is not clear exactly where the ideological training of political activities he sees comes from. In this study, we want to find an answer to the problem.
