한국 국립공원 깃대종에 대한 문제점 인식 및 해결방안 탐색

Recognizing Problems and Seeking Solutions of Flagship species in Korea National Park

국립공원은 시민들의 여가 공간인 동시에 생물종 및 생태계 보존기능을 수행한다. 하지만 탐방객들의 인식미흡으로 인해 국립공원 내 자연환경 훼손문제가 지속적으로 발생한다. 환경보존 인식 홍보와 생물다양성을 알리는 수단으로써 깃대종은 환경보호의 관심 유도를 비롯한 다양한 기대효과를 가지고 있다. 국내 국립공원은 깃대종을 선정하였지만 홍보가 미흡한 실정이며, 이에 따라 시민들을 대상으로 국내 국립공원의 깃대종에 관련한 설문조사를 실시하였다. 그 결과 많은 시민들은 깃대종에 대해 알지 못하며 깃대종 선정 절차에 실제 참여경험이 있는 시민은 소수이고, 깃대종의 선정기준은 생태·문화·사회적 대표성을 가진 종이어야 한다고 응답하였다. 이번 연구를 통해 국내 국립공원의 깃대종은 그 활용이 미흡하며, 이를 보완할 시 여러 기대효과를 얻을 수 있다는 시사점을 제공하였다.

The national parks serve as a place for leisure and protection of biological species and ecosystem. However, due to low public awareness in the national park has persistently been destroyed. Flagship species as means of nature conservation induces interest in nature conservation and promotes public awareness in restoration of protective species populations and the economic effect of national parks to citizens. Although the Korea national park selected flagship species, this system has not been promoted to the public sufficiently. Targeting random citizens, we surveyed perception about flagship species of Korea national parks. As a result, most of the citizens did not know about flagship species. They thought that flagship species should be ecological, cultural, social representativity. Furthermore, it has been known that various citizen participates in selecting flagship species. However, very few citizens actually participated. In this study, we provided the implication that flagship species of Korea national parks are not promoted sufficiently. Therefore, if we supplement for this problem, we can get several expectancy effects.
