이 연구에서는 석사과정 파견교사 중 과학교사의 경험을 그들의 입장에서 현상학적으로 연구함으로써 기존의 연구에서 드러나지 않았던 석사과정 파견과학교사들의 경험과 그 경험이 가지는 교육학적 의미를 이해하고자 하였다. 이 연구에서는 ‘석사과정 파견교사로서 과학교사들의 경험은 그들 자신에게 어떠한 것인가?’라는 의문에 초점을 맞추었고, 이 의문에 답하기 위하여 중부권과 서남권의 국립대학에 개설되어 있는 파견연수 과정을 경험한 7명의 과학교사들을 대상으로 현상학적 접근 방법을 시도하였다. 현상학적 연구방법 중 Van Manen(1990)의 분석틀을 원용하여 결과를 분석하였다. 이 연구의 결과, 21개의 드러난 주제로부터 5개의 본질적 주제를 추출하였다. 교사와 학생, 그리고 연구자로 생활하는 석사과정 파견교사들의 경험들은 ‘전문성계발 욕구의 기회’, ‘교사와 학생의 정체성 혼재’, ‘연구자의 정체성 형성’, ‘교사로서 자신감’, ‘덤으로 얻은 선물과 애로점’으로 나타났다. 파견연수 경험을 통해 향상된 교사의 자신감과 교사전문성으로 교육현장에서 교사로, 연구자로서의 생활하거나 연수과정에 있는 파견 과학교사들의 경험들은 교사연수 프로그램의 개선을 위한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다. 파견교사들에 대한 경험적 이해가 교사연수에 제공하는 함의를 교사의 질 향상과 교사연수에 대한 정책적 측면에서 제시해 보고자 하였다.
In this study, we aimed to explore the meaning of dispatched science teachers’ experience for professional development during master course. Four teachers who experienced ‘dispatched professional development course’of the university located in southern area participated in this study. In this study, the data were collected by in-depth interviews with all participants. Field notes, recording under the participants’ agreements. The data interpreted to using Van-Menen(1990)’s phenomenological analysis framework. Result of study revealed that participants are experiencing the following 5 essential themes: ‘Professional development needs and opportunities’, ‘Identity confusion between the teacher and student’, ‘Forming identity as a researcher’, ‘Confidence as a teacher’, ‘Gift and sorrow, which is obtained as a bonus’. More precisely this study found following 21 identified themes. The meaning of dispatched science teachers’ experience for professional development during master course found in this study will be useful for the development of new science teacher professional development programs.
