암석 순환의 구성요소와 과정에 대한 비과학 전공 대학생들의 이해

Understanding the Rock Cycle Composition Elements and Process of the Unscientific Major College Students

본 연구의 목적은 지구계에서 암석 순환의 구성요소와 과정에 대한 비과학 전공 대학생들의 이해를 심층적으로 밝히는 것이다. 대학에서 지구과학 교양 수업을 수강하는 41명의 대학생들을 대상으로 암석 순환에 대한 이해를 구조적인 도식으로 나타내고 이를 설명하기 위한 글쓰기 활동을 병행하였다. 대학생들은 비과학적 이해를 포함하는 다양한 주관적 개념을 표현하였다. 순환의 고리를 복합적으로 연결하지 않아 순환적 본성에 대한 인식이 부족함을 나타내었고, 일상생활과 연계하여 적용하고 있지 못함을 알 수 있었다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the unscientific major college students understandings about composition elements and process of rock cycle in earth systems. Forty one college students who take earth science as general education became the subject of the understanding of rock cycle that is represented in structural diagram, and writing activity was in process at the same time. The college students expressed various subjective conception including unscientific understanding. An insufficient awareness about circular nature is appeared to simple connection of ring cycle and it isn t applicable to connection with everyday life.
