《島山雜詠》〈幷記〉에 나타난 退溪의 敎學思想

A StudyToegye s Educational Thoughts through the Analysis of≪Dosan-Jayoung≫<Dosan-gi>

퇴계 이황(李滉)이 1561년에 도산서당 축성 때에 쓴 <도산잡영>의 병기문인 <도산기>는 도산서당 건립배경과 과정, 주변의 경관에 대한 단순한 기록문만 아니다. <도산기>는 도산서당의 건학이념은 물론이고 평소 퇴계가 교육자로서 지니고 있던 신념을 담고 있다. 또한 퇴계의 삶에 대한 철학적 태도도 고스란히 드러내고 있다. 그것은 인간이 산수자연에서 생활하는 가운데 황폐화된 마음이 맑고 밝은 마음으로 다듬어지게 된다는 것이다. 그러므로 산수지락과 안빈낙도를 통하여 자연과 어울려 조화로운 삶을 구가(謳歌)하는 가운데 인격수양을 할 것과 학문에 정진하여 힘써야할 것을 말하고 있다는 점에서 <도산기>는 교학사상의 글인 것이다. 이러한 퇴계의 교학사상을 담고 있는 <도산기>는 현대에 살고 있는 젊은 청소년들에게 삶의 방향을 제시할 것이고, 정신적 세계를 맑게 하고 건강하게 만드는 좋은 청량제가 될 것이다.

Dosan-gi is a kind of educational document of Toegye which was recorded in 1561 when Dosan-Seodang was being built, in which Toegye s educational thoughts are inherited. Dosan-gi is not a simple document but a report of Toegye s thoughts of ideal education focused on the human discipline. Dosan-Seodang is a educational place where Toegye delivered his lectures to his students. And its building and natural environment were not a mere place for recreation or play but an intented educational place for confucian scholars. In this place, Toegye tried to make harmony of human life in the pursuit of the laws and rules of nature. Toegye built Dosan-Seodang as the disciplinary place of research and lecture. Thus Dosan-Seodang was a best place to deliver lectures, to be in retirement from the life, and to discipline in the natural environment. This study was intended to find out Toegye s educational thoughts, which will give suggestion on the life of modern youth.
