여성 범죄자 보도 형식과 여성의 자기서술

The format of reporting on female criminals and the pattern of responding to female criminals: Focusing on Shin s case

이 논문의 목적은 여성 범죄자를 다루는 언론의 무자비한 보도 방식을 밝히고 사건의 진실을 밝히려는 여성의 서술방식을 설명하는 데 있다. 신문과 방송은 가장 신뢰받는 언론으로 대중과 독자에게 범죄 사건의 진실을 알려 주는 매체로 여겨졌다. 그러나 여성과 관련된 범죄 사실을 보도하는 언론의 태도는 사실 보도와는 거리가 멀었다. 그들은 범죄와는 무관한 정보들, 개인의 사적 정보를 마구잡이로 활용해, 한 여성을 악녀 로 만든다. 특히 여성의 외모나 소비 행태 등을 비유적으로 활용한 날조된 정보들이 사실 정보보다 더 중요시된다. 이러한 언론 보도방식은 괴상한 성적 담론을 만들어내며 성에 대한 잘못된 편견과 고정관념을 양산한다. 여성과 관련된 범죄를 보도하는 언론의 잔혹성은 독자의 흥미를 자극하기 위해 여성을 성적으로 대상화한다는 점에서 문제시된다. 이는 대중에게 여성을 사회적 약자로 인식하게 한다는 점에서 문제가 있다. 이 문제와 함께 여성의 서술방식을 살펴보기 위해 신정아 사건(2007)을 다룬 언론의 서사 방식을 분석하고 그에 대응하는 여성의 목소리로 신정아의 자서전 『4001』을 분석하고자 한다.

The purpose of this paper is to reveal the ruthless way of reporting by the media dealing with female criminals and to explain the way women self-describe to reveal the truth of the case. Newspapers and broadcasts were considered the most trusted media, and were considered media outlets to inform the public and readers of the truth of criminal cases. However the media’s attitude of reporting crimes involving women was far from true. they were adept at turning a woman into a evil girl by using information unrelated to crime, personal information indiscriminately. In particular, fabricated information using figuratively such as women’s appearance and consumption patterns often became more important then factual information. This method of media coverage creates bizarre sexual discourse, producing false prejudices and stereotypes about sex. This problem is also linked to the recent incident of a female idol who died in malicious comments. The brutality of the media in reporting women’s crimes is problematic in that it sexually targets women to stimulate resders’s interest. This is all the more problematic in that it makes the public perceive women as socially disadvantages. In addition to this issue, we are going to analyze the way the media narrated rhe Shin Jeong-ah case(2007) and analyze Shin’s autobiography “4001” in the voice of a woman.
