영화 <우리 선희>의 내러티브 분석

Narrative Analysis of the Film <Our Sunhi>

본 논문은 현대 영화 내러티브 분석에 있어서 ‘디에게시스’와 ‘미메시스’의 이분법적 보다는 상호보완적 관계에서 이론적인 적용을 모색하고 있다. 즉 ‘미메시스’는 ‘디에게시스’를 전달하는 다양한 기법임과 동시에 이야기를 전달하는 ‘디에게시스’ 그 자체이기 때문에, 어떤 묘사된 이미지는 그 이미지에 의해 묘사되는 대상이 있고 결국 그 대상이 표현하고 싶은 서사라는 점에서 ‘미메시스’와 ‘디에게시스’는 상호보완적 관계가 성립된다는 의미이다. 이런 이론적 관점을 견지해서 홍상수 감독의 영화 <우리 선희>(2013)를 분석해 볼 것이다.

Film narrative analysis is based on the narratology of Diegesis and Mimesis . The method of composing the story represents the situation of some cases and can be expressed in words. It is often understood that the electron is mimesis and the latter is Diegesis . In the movie, the image representation method can be applied as Mimesis and the magnificent method of the main characters can be applied as Diegesis . These dichotomous thoughts is derived from the difference in the aesthetical view of Plato and Aristotle, that is, the difference in the concept of mimesis. The Mimesis used to be descirbed the perfect world(IDEA) and nature is not imitation based on simple facts(plato) but representation method of peculiarity based on universality(Aristotle). Aristotle thought that the expression of fictitious imagination through mimesis(universality) is regarded as the same as aesthetical creativity(specificity) because the immanence of human nature is potential existence. The power(will) integrated with the object of mimesis is the act of mimesis, that is, the performance of Arts. After all, in narrative analysis of the film theory, it is natural that Diegesis and Mimesis should be applied in a complementary relationship rather than applied as a dichotomy theory. Mimesis is a variety of processes communicating Diegesis and at the same time means Diegesis itself communicating narrative(story). For example, Some described images have objects to be depicted by the image and ultimately, that images is the narratives that the objects is eager to express. in this point, It is possibe to elucidate that mimesis and diegesis are complementary relationship. It would not be an exaggeration to say that this thoughts was already developed by Christian Metz into the theory of film story analysis. On the basis of this theoretical thoughts, I do analyze the film <Our Sunhi> (2013) directed by Hong Sangsoo.
