The article is devoted to the analysis of the gender position of Japanese women during the Second World War. The author examines the situation of Japanese women in three main areas: home (family), work and patriotic activity. It is concluded that the main impact of the war on the status of Japanese women was their active involvement in work outside the home. The family sphere has not undergone significant changes.
