1890년대에 러시아에 니체가 처음 소개되고 약 130년이 지난 지금도 러시아에서 니체는 가장 많이 읽히는 철학자 중 하나이다. 이 글에서 우리는 니체가 러시아에서 어떻게 수용되었는지 그 수용사를 간략하게 살펴보고자 한다. 이때 우리가 전제하는 것은 러시아에서의 니체 수용이 러시아와 러시아인들이 이미 가지고 있는 가치 체계 및 그들이 처한 당대 상황에 의거하여 이루어졌다는 것이다. 본고에서는 러시아의 지식인들이 어떤 시대적 요구에서 어떻게 니체를 수용하였는지, 그 문화적 의미가 무엇인지에 주목하면서 19세기 말부터 20세기 초까지의 니체 수용 과정을 약술할 것이다.
Nietzsche’s thought had a massive influence on Russian literature and the arts, religious philosophy and political culture. In this article, we will briefly review the reception history of Nietzsche s idea in Russia. Russian intellectuals interpreted Nietzsche s thought on the basis of their value systems and on Russia’s cultual and political situation at the time. In this article, we will outline the process of reception of Nietzsche s thought from the late 19th to the early 20th century, paying attention to how Russian intellectuals received Nietzsche in accordance with the requirements of the time and the cultural context.
