1930년대 후반 『동아일보』 연재 <소년야담>의 계몽성과 역사 인물에 대하여

A Study on the historical figures and enlightenment of Yadam(a Kind of folklore story) for the boys serialized in the Dong-A Ilbo in the late 1930s

일제강점기 『동아일보』 소설란에 1937년 11월14일부터 1938년 10월29일까지 연재되었던 <소년야담(少年野談)>은 역사 속 인물들의 일화를 전달하면서 계몽성과 역사 인식이라는 두 가지 성과를 기대했던 것으로 보인다. 이에 이 글에서는 <소년야담>에서 소개한 35편의 내용과 형식, <소년야담>에서 찾을 수 있는 계몽성과 인물의 성격 등에 대하여 논의하였다. 그리하여 <소년야담>은 역사서, 야담집, 인물지에 있는 내용을 발췌하여 소년들이 이해하기 쉽도록 가공된 연재물이었으며, 특히 『대동기문(大東奇聞)』의 내용을 주로 인용했음을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 <소년야담>의 계몽성은 삼국시대로부터 조선시대에 이르는 역사 속 인물들의 어린 시절 일화를 주로 다루는 과정에서 강조된 지혜, 의리, 정직, 조신, 효성 등의 미덕을 통하여 강조되고 있었다.

The purpose of this article is to discuss the characteristics of historical figures appearing in Yadam(a Kind of folklore story) for the boys serialized in the Dong-A Ilbo from November 14, 1937 to October 29, 1938. It seems to have expected two achievements: historical awareness and enlightenment while conveying the anecdotes of characters in history. Therefore, in this article, we tried to analyze the contents of the 35 stories belonging to Yadam(a Kind of folklore story) for the boys to reveal that they were a serial series with the purpose of practicing enlightenment and evoking historical figures in the late 1930s. To this end, the contents and form of Yadam(a Kind of folklore story) for the boys, the enlightenment of Yadam(a Kind of folklore story) for the boys, and the characteristics of the historical figures were discussed. Accordingly, it can be seen that the boy s yadam mainly utilized the contents of Daedongkimun among the various references. In addition, emphasis was placed on emphasizing virtues such as honesty, wisdom, and loyalty from each story. Through the introduction of historical figures, understanding of the historical situation from the Three Kingdoms period to the Joseon Dynasty was promoted.
